ActewAGL shares Christmas cheer through Communities@Work (14 December 2011)
Staff at ActewAGL’s Greenway depot today donated over 300 gifts and foodstuffs to brighten-upChristmas for local families in need through Communities@Work.
Lynne Harwood, CEO of Communities@Work said, “While Christmas is a time for joy and celebration for most families, for some it is a time where finances are stretched to the limit which
causes more friction and stress amongst people who are already in a troubled position. It’s wonderful to see ActewAGL Electricity Networks division supporting its local community groups.”
Hands Across Canberra supports Galilee School camp (8 December 2011)
Local philanthropic organisation, Hands Across Canberra, delivered a cheque for $5,000 to fund the Galilee School inaugural end of year camp.

Communities@Work Celebrates Family Day Care (18 November 2011)
Communities@Work Family Day Care Scheme presented awards to all the educators who have coordinated their own Family Day Care Business for up to 20 years at a function held at the Woden Southern Cross Club on Friday 18 November. Melissa Haley Manager of Communities@Work Family Day and In Home Care Programs said “the night was a wonderful way to acknowledge and celebrate the educators who have dedicated their career to Family Day Care”.

Minister Joy Burch will be launching alfresco dining by the lake with live Jazz music at The Jetty Cafe which is based in The Tuggeranong Community and Function Centre and is managed by Communities@Work today at 11am.
Tuggeranong’s 55 Plus Club has a new home! (17 November 2011)
The long anticipated official opening of the Tuggeranong Seniors Centre (55 Plus Club) will take place Friday 18 November at 10 am, with Minister Joy Burch MLA officiating.

Communities@Work Responds to the Developmental Needs of Children (2 November 2011)
Communities@Work has pleasure in announcing the launch of Paint & Play Weston on Wednesday 2 November at 11am by Minister Joy Burch MLA.
In 2010, a snapshot of the developmental level of children in their first year of formal schooling was released. Weston Creek presented with higher proportions of developmental vulnerability on all domains, when compared to the proportions of developmental vulnerability across Australia and the ACT.

OzHarvest Canberra Supporters one the first to see Tempo Theatre’s Agatha Christie’s “THE Mousetrap” in Australia (8 September 2011)
Tempo Theatre’s was one of the first companies to perform The Mousetrap in Australia on Thursday 8 September to raise funds for OzHarvest Canberra, which is managed by Communities@Work. Each month, OzHarvest Canberra rescues and delivers 12 tonnes of nourishing food to 60 charities, refuges and shelters, allowing them to provide some 35,000 meals to thousands of disadvantaged people in our community.
Governor-General To Launch Homeless Youth Charity (3 August 2011)
The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, will officially launch YouthCARECanberra, which supports the city’s homeless young people, at an event at Government House on Wednesday, August the 3rd at 12.30pm.
The launch will acknowledge the transition to YouthCARECanberra from Open Family ACT.
OzHarvest Canberra delivers it’s one millionth meal to disadvantaged people in the Canberra region and gets a third van.....all in one day! (25 July 2011)
Monday 25 July at 11am is a huge milestone for OzHarvest Canberra.
The OzHarvest team will deliver its one millionth meal to St John’s Care in Reid and receive a cheque from John Runko, Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Property Group, for $40,000 to purchase a third van.

Kambah Child Care and Education Centre Benefits from Community Volunteering Day (11 April 2011)
When Microsoft Canberra went looking for ways to help local community organisations they discovered Kambah Child Care and Education Centre in need of an outdoor face lift. Chefs Network Raises $12, 500 for OzHarvest Canberra (22 February 2011)
OzHarvest Canberra, the Capital’s major food rescue charity, is thrilled with the success of the Chefs Network’s major fundraising event which raised $12, 500 to support the operations of OzHarvest Canberra. The trivia night event, held at the National Press Club, was a sell-out with 300 guests attending.
